A delicious homemade bread combining whole wheat and bread flour, sweetened with honey, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Dairy and Yeast

warm milk
(about 110-115°F)

Flours

whole wheat flour
3 to 3-1/2

bread flour or all purpose flour
(start with 3 and add more as needed)

Egg wash

(with 1 Tbsp water)
Instructions
Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
Add water, flours, shortening, honey, and salt; knead on low for 2 minutes.
Let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
Divide dough, shape, place in greased pans, and let rise 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F, brush loaves with egg wash, and bake 30 minutes.
Cool for 30 minutes before slicing. Optional: brush with melted butter for softer crust.
Notes
Ensure the dough is tacky but not sticky for best results.
