A simple and delicious homemade bread baked right in a skillet, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1.5 cups warm water (105–115 degrees)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3.5 - 4 bread flour (adjust as needed)
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt

Instructions 

  • Mix water, honey, and yeast; let sit until foamy.
  • Add 2.5 cups flour, olive oil, and salt; knead until smooth.
  • Let dough rise for 30 minutes, then shape into a ball and place in skillet.
  • Cover, rest for 30 minutes, then preheat oven to 400°F and cut slits in bread.
  • Bake for 12-20 minutes until golden; optional butter and salt topping.

Notes

For a crustier bread, bake a few extra minutes and brush with butter after baking.
