Enjoy warm, buttery cornbread baked to perfection in a skillet, perfect as a side dish or snack.

Wet ingredients

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and place a cast iron skillet inside to heat.
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl; add milk, melted butter, and egg, stirring until just combined.
Remove skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter or oil, then pour batter into skillet.
Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Serve warm with butter.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use melted butter instead of oil.
