A delicious homemade focaccia bread baked in a skillet, topped with Parmesan and herbs for a flavorful treat.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.75 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Topping & Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for drizzling
  • to taste Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • optional rosemary (optional)
  • optional cornmeal (for greasing)

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, salt, yeast, sugar, warm water, and olive oil until a rough dough forms. Let rise in a greased bowl covered for 1-1.5 hours.
  • Punch down the dough, stretch to fit a greased skillet, and poke holes with fingers.
  • Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with Parmesan and herbs, then let sit for 20-30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the focaccia in the skillet for 20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add herbs or garlic before baking.
