A delicious and hearty dish featuring bell peppers filled with seasoned meat and rice, cooked to perfection in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
Bell Peppers
4
large
bell peppers (red, yellow, or green)
1
lb
lean ground beef or turkey
1
cup
uncooked white or brown rice
1
medium
onion, finely chopped
3
cloves
garlic, minced
2
cups
tomato sauce
1
tsp
Italian seasoning
to taste
Salt and pepper
Instructions
Wash peppers, cut tops, and remove seeds.
Cook meat with onions and garlic until browned; drain excess fat.
Mix cooked meat, rice, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and spices.
Stuff peppers with filling and place in slow cooker.
Pour remaining sauce over peppers; cook on low for 6 hours.
Remove and serve hot.
Notes
You can use any color of bell peppers and adjust seasoning to taste.
