These soft, honey-sweetened whole wheat dinner rolls are perfect for any meal. Easy to make and irresistibly fluffy, they bring warmth and comfort to your table.
Ingredients
Dough
3 ½ - 4 ½cupswhole wheat flour(divided)
2tablespoonsinstant yeast
¼cuphoney
1teaspoonsalt
1 ½cupswarm milk(about 105-110 F)
6tablespoonsbutter(at room temperature)
1largeegg(at room temperature)
2tablespoonsbutter(melted)
Instructions
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.
Combine 2 cups of flour, yeast, honey, salt, warm milk, 6 tablespoons butter, and egg in a bowl. Mix until combined.
Add remaining flour gradually until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky. Knead for 2 minutes.
Let the dough rise in a warm spot for 30 minutes, then punch down and divide into 24 rolls. Place in prepared pan.
Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter before serving.
Notes
For softer rolls, let them rise in a warm, draft-free area.
