Enjoy a spicy twist on classic sloppy joes with this flavorful recipe featuring sriracha and smoky BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 1 piece Green Pepper (Chopped)
  • 1 piece Red Pepper (Chopped)
  • 1 piece Sweet Onion (Chopped)
  • 2 pieces Carrots (Chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 pounds Ground Beef (Lean or Ground Turkey)
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic (or 2 Cloves)
  • 8 ounces Tomato Sauce (No Salt Added)
  • 10 tablespoons BBQ Sauce (Hickey & Brown Sugar)
  • 5 teaspoons Chili Sauce (Sriracha)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions 

  • Chop the vegetables and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add chopped vegetables and cook for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add ground beef and brown until cooked through.
  • Reduce heat to low, add remaining ingredients, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.

Notes

Adjust spice level by adding more or less sriracha.
