Ingredients

Dairy and chocolate

  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs plus 1 egg yolk eggs and yolk
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

Nuts

  • 3/4 cup chopped California walnuts

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line an 8x8-inch pan with foil and spray.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in microwave, stirring until smooth.
  • Mix in sugars and cocoa, then add vanilla, eggs, and dry ingredients. Fold in walnuts.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake for 35 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 4 days or in the fridge for 1 week.
