How to Make the Recipe
Let’s dive into the cooking process! Follow these simple steps to create your High Protein Fettuccine Tuna Alfredo:
- Start by cooking the fettuccine according to the package instructions. Make sure to salt the water for extra flavor!
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
- Add the drained tuna to the skillet, breaking it up gently with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley for a pop of color!
Pro Tips for Making the Recipe
Here are some of my favorite tips to ensure your creamy garlic pasta turns out perfectly:
- For added flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice or zest to the sauce.
- If you want to sneak in some veggies, try adding spinach or peas when you add the tuna.
- Don’t overcook the pasta; it should be al dente for the best texture.
- Feel free to substitute the tuna with cooked chicken or shrimp for a different twist!
How to Serve
This High Protein Fettuccine Tuna Alfredo is best served hot and fresh. Pair it with a simple side salad or some garlic bread for a complete meal. It’s also a fantastic option for weeknight dinner ideas when you want something hearty yet quick. You can even sprinkle some extra Parmesan on top for that cheesy goodness!
Make Ahead and Storage
If you’re planning ahead, you can make this dish in advance! Just prepare the sauce and cook the pasta, then store them separately in the fridge. When you’re ready to eat, simply reheat the sauce and toss it with the pasta. This dish can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just remember that the pasta may absorb some of the sauce, so you might want to add a splash of cream or milk when reheating to bring back that creamy texture.
Now that you have this delightful recipe in your arsenal, I hope you’ll give it a try! It’s perfect for those busy nights when you need quick family dinners that don’t compromise on flavor or nutrition. Enjoy your cooking adventure, and don’t forget to share your results with friends and family!
